With all these gadgets we have at our fingertips it can get a little confusing at times to figure them all out. There's the iPad, the iPod touch, the BlackBerry PlayBook, the X-Box 360, the PS3, and the Samsung Galaxy, just to name a few. Not to mention PVRs, Blu-ray players, and laptops. If you own any one or more of the above-mentioned devices then you probably know what it's like trying to work more than one of them at the same time while at home or at your job.

However, things don't have to be too bleak if you know how to work them all in sync with each other. You've probably heard the term sync thrown around when talking about gadgets, either in your home or the store you purchased your gadget from. If you're unsure of what the definition of sync is then let us put you in the loop.

The word sync is taken from synchronize and in relation to technology, sync is used to describe the action of synchronizing data from one gadget to another gadget and is done so through a Bluetooth wireless connection or a USB cable. It's a pretty simple process and doesn't take much time or effort. For instance, if you have a computer with your information stored on it and want to transfer it to your brand new iPad 2 but don't want to re-type all your information then you can simply sync up your iPad 2 to your laptop and transfer that information.

The one drawback when it comes to technology is that it's always adapting and evolving. That means one day you have the newest gadget on the market but the next day it could already be out of date. However, the ability to sync the data stored on your old device to the newest model makes buying a new MP3 player or tablet more appealing because you don't have to worry about losing any of your current data. That means any songs, school reports, or videos can easily be transferred and saved.

When you sync devices there is plenty of stuff you can sync from one device to another such as internet browser bookmarks, music, movies, games, apps, and TV shows, just to give you some examples. Apple has the market cornered on sync enabling devices because of how easy it is to sync data between Apple devices through iTunes. Not all products can sync through iTunes though but that doesn't mean you still can't sync up your home or work devices together. Some other popular sync programs, other than iTunes, that you can potentially use include Palm Desktop, iSync, and The Missing Sync.

Before you get ready to start syncing up devices be sure you understand the process. You don't want to erase the Ideal Warehouse Innovations Inc. trailer presentation you worked hard all weekend long completing. Once you get the hang of it you will be syncing up devices in no time, and sharing important music playlists or the greatest books list you subscribe to.
